Well for that there is a very simple and useful website called no other than Colour Schemer . Originally the colour schemer is a professional software, but they provide a simpler free online version of the tool. I particularly like the darker/lighter scheme feature.

And for those who just not lack of design skills but also of inspiration, you can pick up any colour schemes you xant from thousands of sets created by other users on Colour Lovers.



De la poésie…

Voici les 2 pubs Orange qui figurent dans mon top 5 perso toute marque confondue.

Tout d’abord la Pub Orange « Open » (ou le poisson si vous préférez)
Je pense qu’avec cette publicité c’est du tout ou rien, on l’adore ou on se demande pourquoi Orange a sorti un spot pareil… moi je me suis complètement laissée emporter : la beauté des images, la musique, la simplicité… Bref je suis une grande, très grande fan de ce spot, oui même s’il s’agit juste d’un poisson dans un bocal et qu’il ne s’appelle même pas Maurice !

Et donc bien sûr la Pub Orange « Une claque »
Ici de nouveau de la poésie indéniable, mais aussi de l’humour et un concept plutôt sympa, même si personnellement je ne peux m’empêcher de penser aux affiches HSBC des aéroports, celles d’origine http://edayblog.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/pub-hsbc.jpg ou les nouvelles http://hsbc-valeurs.com/default.aspx?id=1

La pub Orange « Flowers »
D’une très grande poésie la pub « Flowers » ou « Feeling the beauty » pour le lancement de la haute def mobile, est aussi un petit bijou, bien que son concept soit un peu moins percutant que Open ou la Claque, la poésie des images lui fait atteindre le top 3 de la poésie Orange.

Ou selon son slogan allons plus loin ensemble, ou en fait comme je le préfère en anglais More fun together. J’ai hésité à mettre cette publicité dans poésie ou dans humour, mais l’ampleur planétaire…

Il n’y a que ce mot qui vient étonnement à chaque fois je cherche à décrire une pub Orange : poésie… oui ici encore beaucoup de poésie je trouve.

J’hésite entre poésie et frayeur pour celle-là… Heureusement que la chanson de Feist insuffle la légèreté nécessaire.

Une autre forme de poésie, plus à la Shakespeare, pour Orange Intense. Si le coté romance est à peu près assumée, il est surtout sublimée en évitant le terrible piège carte noire (et son try to remember) car on retrouve le rythme et la douceur des images des autres pub Orange.

Un peu téléphoné comme concept! Mais ça fonctionne très bien et la pub se distingue omme d’habitude par une super exécution et son bon choix de musique.

La série de pubs Orange « Cube d’enfants »
Comme quoi il n’y a pas d’âge pour être un accro du téléphone ! Et quiconque a des petits en bas âges à la maison ou dans son entourage sait combien cette série de publicité est véridique en plus d’être très mignonne.

Il manque pas mal de pub vous me direz notamment les pubs Zidane, les pubs origami et les pubs internet everywhere. En voici la raison : pour les premières la créativité a été bridée par le fait de devoir inclure une célébrité, pour les secondes j’aime beaucoup le concept Origami, au global , ie pour le produit et sa com, et un grand respect sa réussite mais les pubs bien que fort sympathiques ne me touchent pas vraiment, et enfin pour les dernières je trouve le concept un peu pompeux et pompé sur HP.

Du retour des 60s
Impossible de passer à coté des clips hommage aux sixties de la relève du gentil rock français, d’un coté les BB Brunes & de l’autre le duo Julien Doré et Cœur de Pirate. D’ailleurs en voyant ces 2 là je ne peux m’empêcher de penser au duo 60s ultime Gainsbourg Bardot, bien que je ne me permettrais aucune comparaison ou parallèle artistique.

Alors que les 2 années précédentes  ont vu Amy Winehouse et ses trashyssimes excès représenter les chanteuses anglaises, c’est avec un grand plaisir que 2009 a vu le retour des petites anglaises!!! Ces chanteuses aux  chevelures blondes et aux grands yeux, qui délivrent avec plus ou moins de style des rythmes parfaits pour se déhancher, avec leur sens si personnel de la mode!!!

Tout a commencé en début d’année avec Duffy, of course, un petit coté 60s elle aussi, et certes plus soul que pop

Pas juste arce que son nom ressemble a Duffy, ca c’est certain, mais parce que le clip de son  “Pop the glock” sorti à l’automne est digne d’une scène tout droit sortie de Skins, la série tv à succes de E4, une sorte de 90210 anglais où l’on suit les affaires amoureuses d’ados  trashy, +/-friqués, so british, et  qui avat notamment révélé Dev Patel.

First, Office lipdub, whether they are one-take or not, a couple years ago it really felt like it was the team building activity of the holidays celebration, some were at the initiative of a few employees and some were definitely sponsored by the company management (and professionally set up), as if any company that wanted to be considered a cool company (to recruit or to sell more) had to upload company lipdub on youtube or on their press website… At first as most internet meme it was mostly Internet/Communication companies but it has quickly widened to any type of companies.

 A few examples, sorry most of those are French, but I guess the meme is worldwide

- AOL : this one is the first famous French one/big one done Venture Connected style, and that has been massively shared among online French companies.

- Groupe Beumanoir : a multi-brand clothing company, so its basically a lipdubbed fashion show, its definitely sponsored by the management as a team building event, its perfectly staged, choregraphed, synched.

- Toys R’Us : I think this one particularly good as well : location all the rows of the shop give really good movement and the shop itself provide funny accessorizes, the genuine fun & average Joe style of the participants is heart warming, its prepared but its not staged like the Beaumanoir one, they are both great examples of the 2 different types of company lipdubs.

- zaOza : this one is interesting as its a multi location one, across Paris Berlin Marseille offices, but transition are flawless and you can barely noticed its 3 locations,  you can identify Berlin by all the beers.

- Kia Motors : this one is not a One Take, but its very well edited and synched, and the choice of the song is great for this kind of editing.

- RTL radio group : one of the reason why this one was somewhat famous is because among the employees that participate several are radio host, of the various radios of the group, who are also famous TV show host in France, it would be like having a lipdub with Jay Leno, David Letterman Oprah and others at the same time, at the small French level of course.

- Poulets de Loué : I selected this one for 2 reasons to show that lipdub trend has reached every industry, and to show that from just lip-singing more and more lipdub project try to promote messages as well, here traditional poultry farming (no battery/ only outdoor), the song says “no no nothing has changed, every thing keeps going the same”, the footage is compared current farming with a few old footage of the company, but most of the black & white videos have been shot for the lipdub “old style”.

2/And after company lipdub… University lipdub, if you can build team spirit in a company, just imagine how much you can do with student to show school spirit…

- UQAM – University of Quebec Montreal : A very big hit on youtube with more than 2.5 millions to date as it’s a very good lipdub : a lot of people (172 students), location is perfect for the one take movement, the song is great as it’s the current big hit from Black eyed peas I gotta feeling , staging is professional and creative… at the end of the lipdub you basically just want to go party with them. 1 month of planning for the organizers, 1 day preparation for the students, 2 rehearsals, 2 take, 2d take with no edit…

but the UQAM  lipdub actually comes 3 years after the first HEC Montreal lipdub (though not one take) , and they have produced several since the latest one already quite big in views on youtube and quite well set up one take.

So its to wonder if there is going to be some kind of rivalry for the best university lipdub on Montreal streets? Well considering the list of business schools, universities and even now high schools producing lipdub during orientation week, student board election campaigns or just for the fun of it, the contest for the most viewed university lipdub is definitely on and its with no surprise there is now even websites dedicated to the phenomenon http://universitylipdub.com/

The UQAM lipdub has been so huge, that already a dozen of other I gotta feeling  lipdub have been made in a few weeks. The song is particularly fit and fun for this. Would there be a sub² meme to this sub meme, called I gotta feeling lipdub?

3/ As lipdub are all about showing together our spirit and unity around something it’s not surprising that some took it to the next level: Demonstration Lipdub! Whether it is to claim for changes or show your support and opinions!

- Castres – Mazamet Highway  : Hell we are French we love to have political or labour claims and demonstrate and here the lipdub has been very nicely used to show why and how much south of Tarn region needs a new highway to connect the people, help them grow business, develop their cities without leaving their region. The song Toi  + Moi (You + Me, by an online discovered & produced artist Gregoire) has been rewritten to explain all the benefits expected by getting the highway like any usual demonstration hymn

- Quebec City mayor Regis Labeaume : In Quebec city mayor election was held on 1^st November and following the success of the UQAM lipdub, NRJ Quebec radio and a supporter group of the current mayor created a lipdub during the campaign before the election, also based on the Black eyed peas song but rewritten to list all his achievements and projects for next mandate

Lipdub of all Lipdub “Rock Collection”

It all started back in 1977 with the release of Rock Collection song by Laurent Voulzy, the song tells how everybody have great memories linked to great rock songs, and so the song itself is a medley of famous songs… So a big web 2.0 event has been set up on youtube where the singer invites any group of people to produce a lipdub on one of the rock extract of his original song, and then all those are put together to create a new music video for the Rock Collection song. Well the latest edit is now 19 minutes long and shows many different group of people lipdubbing from primary school classroom to fishmarket traditional companies rugby teams and hair salon…

I think it’s a clever and honest way that this singer found to surf on a meme …

 I’m from the Buffy generation, I’m a fan of the strong witted young woman characters like Buffy Summers and even more like Veronica Mars (if only I had their smart sassy wit!), and not quite a fan of damsel in distress type like Bella. I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy watching twilight movie, as a chick movie / teen movie fan I was happy to go see it and found it entertaining, but my limit in cheesy was soon reached ending up in uncontrollable laugh during the lying in the grass scene… so of course when I found this video, whatever the ending would be I was on Buffy’ side.

You would not believe how smooth this robot can walk, dance and move.  If I had seen it first on a video I probably would have thought that the image has been  enhanced in post prod. But no no no… I had to interrupt my meeting to check it out. Here is a few of the Nao capacities we saw : walking, getting up and down, dancing, (last night on thriller), talking (a starwars story) and interacting.

I cant find yet on youtube the videos shot yesterday, but there’s a few other ones available. The only thing is that Nao is improving quickly and so videos that are not even 6 months or a year are already outdated as Robot Nao was back then walking very ‘sequentially’, well like a robot I should say, but now it’s walking very smoothly.

Not just its moves are impressive but the balance as well, Robot Nao can throw quickly its arm behind its head without falling backwards, it can stand on one leg, can even so some hip hop moves on its arms! There is even more tricks and AI skills in Nao that I havent seen, I’ll let you discover them through the videos below.

No wonder why last year Robot Nao became the official robot program for the Robocup, replacing thus the Sony robot ! Quite impressive one as well, but not as capable, not as cute and most importantly not French, by the way, how do you now that Nao is French? Not even 3 years olds and he already knows how to play FOOTBALL!  (hum soccer for our US readers).

Robot Nao is a leisure robot and is supposed to be released to the public in a couple years for target price of 3000€ (or is it $?).

Hier après-midi j’ai eu la chance de rencontrer Nao, le robot français développé par Aldebaran Robotics. Une découverte tout à fait par hasard mais très marquante, j’étais en réunion dans un espace de ‘co-working’ où l’équipe Aldebaran préparait Nao pour un meeting de robotique où il allait effectuer une jolie performance.

Il est difficile de croire combien les mouvements de ce robot sont fluides, quand il bouge, danse ou marche. Si je l’avais d’abord vu en vidéo, j’aurais soupçonné une retouche post prod pour rajouter de la fluidité. Mais non non non… Nous avons même interrompu notre meeting pendant quelques minutes pour admirer Nao. Voici quelques unes des capacités dont nous avons été témoins : marcher, se (re)lever ou s’abaisser, danser (hier soir sur thriller), parler (une histoire de starwars) et interagir.

Je n’ai pas trouvé de vidéo de la performance d’hier soir du Robot Nao, mais il y en a quelques autres disponibles sur youtube et dailymotion. Cependant Robot Nao évolue si rapidement, que les vidéos qui ont déjà quelques mois ne lui rendent pas justice, elles sont déjà dépassées. En effet sur plusieurs d’entre elles Nao marche encore de façon saccadée, comme un robot dirions nous alors qu’aujourd’hui Nao marche de façon très fluide.

Il n’y a pas que la fluidité des mouvements qui est impressionnante, il y a aussi son équilibre, Robot Nao peut jeter son bras en arrière avec pas mal de force/rapidité sans tomber, il peut se tenir sur une jambe, il peut même faire des mouvements de hip hop sur les bras! Il y a encore bien plus de chose que le robot Nao peut faire ‘mécaniquement’ mais aussi en termes d’intelligence artificielle, que je n’ai pas vu hier et que je vous laisse découvrir dans les vidéos ci-dessous.

Robot Nao est tellement avancé, que l’an passé il est devenu le robot officiel de la Robocup, en remplacement du robot Sony! Certes c’était aussi un robot de qualité, mais pas aussi mignon que Nao et surtout il n’était pas Made in France !! D’ailleurs savez-vous comment on reconnait que Nao est français? Même pas 3 ans et il sait déjà jouer au foot!! sisi je vous assure.

Robot Nao est un robot dit de loisir, c’est à dire qu’il devrait être commercialisé pour le grand public d’ici 2 ans, pour environ 3000€ (ou $ je ne me souviens plus).
